Hi, I’m Mark

Entrepreneur and former founder and co-owner of Bitfactory — a creative software agency in Rotterdam. For 25 years, we transformed business ideas into smart digital solutions across e-commerce, apps, websites, and custom software. Along the way, we also founded and led several tech startups — both independently and together with clients. In late 2024, Bitfactory was acquired by Nobears. After a quarter century in IT and the creative industry, I decided to sell my shares — and take a walk on the wild side.

My areas of expertise include: entrepreneurship, company strategy and growth, commercial strategy and operations, sales and marketing, e-commerce, design thinking, digital product design, digital strategy, customer experience, customer fulfillment, building systems and building teams — while keeping customers happy.

doing

Fabrik
Together with Joch Elderkamp, I founded Fabrik. We design and produce scalable furniture systems for professional interior projects — shaped by the space, behaviour, and the people who use them. Our furniture systems help spaces transform, function better (again) and do exactly what they are meant to do.


Monkin
Since the end of 2025, I have run my personal consultancy, Monkin. I help entrepreneurs and organisations build the space and structure they need to grow. When people and systems align, growth becomes simpler — and long-term ambition and profit become achievable.

Besides that

Besides being an entrepreneur, I love to create — experimenting with food, capturing stories through photography, and slowly shaping ideas that might one day become a cookbook or a photography book.
